Overview

Station Mahalo, nestled on Mont-Royal Avenue East in Montreal, presents itself as more than just a café—it’s a welcoming neighborhood retreat that balances a vibrant menu with a relaxed atmosphere. This spot, infused with bright Hawaiian vibes, offers a delightful blend of pastries, coffee, and plant-based options that cater to a diverse audience, especially those seeking gluten-free and vegan choices.

Pastry lovers will find much to appreciate here. The pistachio and chocolate croissant, along with the raspberry cheddar croissant, highlight the bakery’s skillful craftsmanship. Of particular note is the vegan blueberry danish, praised for its perfect texture and balanced sweetness—an indulgence that appeals even to non-vegans. The carrot cake and chocolatine aux amandes further demonstrate a well-rounded, quality selection. While the muffins may disappoint, the overall dessert offerings maintain a strong reputation among visitors.

The beverage menu complements the food with a thoughtful variety of coffees, teas, and smoothies. Standouts include the richly textured Americano and the creamy matcha latte. Those seeking something refreshing will enjoy iced options such as matcha glacé and café glacé. The attention to detail in sourcing and preparing the coffee beans draws regulars who appreciate both flavor and consistency, making Station Mahalo a favored spot for professionals and creatives working remotely during the week.

Beyond the menu, Station Mahalo’s atmosphere is cozy yet bright, with Hawaiian-inspired décor adding warmth and a distinct character to the space. Its location across from a pleasant park encourages patrons to take in the neighborhood’s charm while savoring their drinks or baked goods. The café serves a broad range of visitors—from health-conscious individuals and vegan diners to coffee enthusiasts and local workers seeking a hospitable place to focus or unwind.

The staff’s mindful approach to accommodating dietary restrictions, especially celiac-friendly options, adds a layer of trust and care that enhances the experience. Their openness to questions about allergen-friendly items speaks to a customer-first attitude without overwhelming the casual charm of the place.

In summary, Station Mahalo is a refreshing and thoughtful addition to Montreal’s café scene. It combines quality pastries, well-crafted coffees, and an inviting ambiance, making it a go-to spot for anyone looking to enjoy a mindful bite and a great cup—whether you’re after a quick pick-me-up or a quiet place to work.

The guy who makes the sandwich is super good with making it celiac friendly and they are actually really great. The desserts actually tastes good too. It's rare to find vegan and gluten free place. The server will inform you on what you can eat if you ask. Just don't get the muffins though. They are rock hard and the wax paper don't peel off so you are gonna end up eating both together.

I come here often to work and I’m always impressed by their coffee and americanos! I love the texture and taste of the beans they use, and their cakes are to die for. It’s a great spot to work during the weekdays, and they are quite hospitable when I come by. Truly one of my favourite spots in the neighborhood.

It is always a bit sad to see how places struggle and not don't quite make it on Mt Royal Ave. However, it is nice when someone interesting does move in. While walking by, I stopped in on a whim and picked up a vegan blueberry danish. It lacked for nothing and was absolutely delicious; texture, berry:custard ratio, crust, full flavour with just the right amount of sweetness! (note: I am not vegan, but I did not miss a thing in indulging in this treat.) STATION MAHALO is a welcome addition to the neighbourhood! I will most certainly be back..

Whether it’s take out or dine in, this spot accommodates all tastes! There are gluten free pastries, cakes, and cookies that are some of the best I’ve had anywhere. And the view overlooks a great park to walk through with Mahalo’s coffee in hand! Highly recommend stopping by

Cute place, I love the bright Hawaiian vibes though the prices are kind of pricey… 7$ for a cookie.

We have been coming here for a long while now and love the vegan options including vegan pastries. The atmosphere and service has never been anything but amazing. A great little café gem that has become a big part of our Plateau experience over the years.

Small quaint coffee/ pastry shop. They have very good pastries. I highly recommend the cheddar croissant! Their muffins were tasty and dense but a bit dry. They also have a few vegan pastries for those interested.

Mahalo has become my favorite cafe in the Plateau, I'm pretty much there every day. The treats are delicious, the atmosphere is so welcoming but most importantly the employees are so warm and kind. At this point every time I come in I feel like I'm amongst friends and family. And did I mention the treats are delicious!!!
